NEW REAL LIVING WAGE RATES ANNOUNCED FOR LONDON & THE UK

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan today announced that the new London Living Wage has increased from £9.40 to £9.75 per hour!

The UK rate has increased by 2.4% from £8.25 to £8.45!

We recently donated a Disabled Access Table and a picnic bench to Mission Care Home, Willett House in the memory of our Vice Chair’s father and beloved grandfather of Pauline’s daughters, Gemma and Zoe. We would like to say thank you to all partners, friends and family who donated money to transform the garden into a disabled accessible sensory garden so all residents and their loved ones can enjoy the space. Works included moving the plants along the trellis to enable it to be painted and planting the new raised bed with new plants. A plaque will be placed in the centre of the bed in memory of Charlie.

Mission Care homes provide residential and nursing care for people with mental, physical and social care needs. They have 5 homes across South East London. http://www.missioncare.org.uk/

Congratulations and well done to our Cleaning Operative Edward Bagna who has been nominated and won the certificate from The WOW! Awards by Pat Lacy, an operations manager. In her nomination, Pat said ‘I would like to nominate Edward because he is always very reliable, great with the customers and always does what is asked of him. Classes will start on Saturday 1st October from 9:40am to 12:40pm and will go on for 8 Saturdays in a row, finishing on 19th November 2016.
