RCS Football Tournament For CACT’s Upbeats

May 24, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

The tournament was organised as part of our on-going fundraising for Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s Upbeats – a Downs Syndrome sports club.

We were delighted to have 6 teams enter the tournament. The teams included our clients, suppliers, window cleaners, office team as well as a team from Eltham Hill School.

RCS Head Office team and George Wakeling’s team played each other in the final, and although RCS were at 1st position in the first round, George Wakeling’s team stole the trophy after a 2-1 win!

Team                    Total    points Position
RCS Head Office       13              1st
George Wakeling        8             2nd
Murray Lifts               5              3rd
Window Cleaners       7              4th
Legal and General 1   4              5th
EHS                           2              6th

The 5-a-side tournament was a great success! And despite the rain, everyone had an enjoyable day. We managed to raise a total of £495 which will all go towards our final fundraising total to help keep The Upbeats programme running.

A big thank you to all who got involved!

Autumn Sherif is a solo performer who performs her own songs as well as covering well known songs acoustically. Sherif showcases her talent on her YouTube and Facebook pages, where she posts her singing songs, which have been requested by her followers. Autumn also recently performed at IndigO2.

Volunteers Week

May 15, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

Being heavily involved with various fundraising activities, we would like to introduce volunteering into our company, and make it a big part of what we do. Activity projects have been planned for our charities CACT, Mission care, Demelza and our partnered school Eltham Hill School.

As we are partnered with Eltham Hill School through the BITC business class scheme, we approached the vice principle to find out whether the students would like to take part. We have since received an overwhelming amount of interest from our staff members, as well as students from EHS to participate.

We hope our first venture into volunteering week is a success.

Following our involvement in a woman in leadership event at EHS, some of the Year 12 students (16 to 17 year olds) have requested to take part in some work experience with us and with our clients.

The school’s work experience programme runs from Monday 23rd June until Monday 7th July 2014.

If you’re interested in this project and your company is able to offer work experience for the students, please contact Jessica: Jessica.Sparkes@regularcleaning.com.

Careers Event At Eltham Hill School

May 7, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

The event was organised for Year 9 pupils, to raise awareness of the different careers available to them, in order to develop their career aspiration. In small groups of 4, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the business women volunteers.

Pauline explained ‘As most of the pupils did not know what they wanted to do after school, myself and the other volunteers had the opportunity to talk to the pupils about the type of skills needed to succeed in the workplace. I hope we encouraged them to continue to work hard at school and have an understanding of the skills and tools needed for them succeed.’

We will continue to work closely with EHS and provide all the relevant help and support we can offer.
