June 10, 2011 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

Despite being unwell and then pulling her calf muscle and hurting her back on route, Pauline still completed the course in 59 minutes and 39 seconds. Pauline was determined not to let down those who had sponsored her on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society. What determination!

Gemma managed to beat last year’s time by 2 minutes and completed the course in 54 minutes and 37 seconds. Gemma was thrilled with this time as it was within her target.

For those that would still like to sponsor Pauline and Gemma and help to raise much needed funding for the Alzheimer’s Society, please click on the following link: http://www.justgiving.com/RCSLtd

Pauline and Gemma would like to thank all those who sponsored them; the support and best wishes really helped to spur them on throughout the course and the donations will really help those who suffer with Alzheimer’s and their families to gain the help and much needed support they need.

The Valley Plays Host To Football Tournament

May 26, 2011 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

The tournament, which featured 20 teams from Greenwich, Bexley and Kent, was held to provide an opportunity for young people who have experienced mental illness to take part in a competition on the famous Valley turf.

Many of the teams that entered have links with CACT’s mental health project, which RCS are patrons of, including teams from Oxleas, Status Employment and CACT’s acclaimed Kent and Medway NHS project.

Carl Krauhaus, CACT’s Disability and Mental Health Officer, said: “The tournament is a great example of using football as an aid in the recovery process of young people who have suffered mental health problems.”

RCS are really excited about supporting the CATC’s Disability and Mental Health strand. Support for those with disabilities or mental health issues is vital and RCS are proud to be able to help in any way we can.

We are looking forward to being able to help fundraise and offer manpower through our staff to help out whenever possible.

Through events such as the Mental Health football tournament you can see first-hand the positive effect that these initiatives have on people with mental health issues and disabilities and you fully appreciate the work that CACT do. We, at RCS, are extremely proud to be patrons of such an important and ground-breaking programme. We look forward to a successful partnership with CACT.

RCS Gain BS OHSAS 18001 Accreditation

April 27, 2011 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

BS OHSAS 18001 is all about promoting a safe and healthy working environment and was developed by a selection of leading trade bodies, international standards and certification bodies.

It was designed to be compatible with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and to help organizations meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner.

OHSAS 18001 can be adopted by any organization wishing to implement a formal procedure to reduce the risks associated with health and safety in the working environment for employees, customers and the general public.

Gary Williamson, RCS’s Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Manager who led the process commented that: “It was pleasing to see the RCS operations team so clearly demonstrating their awareness and understanding of their responsibilities and their adherence to the required procedures.

“It confirms that we have a sound framework that allows us to identify and control our health and safety risks, reduces the potential for accidents and ensures legislative compliance and improved overall performance.”

Managing Director, David Sambrook, passed on his thanks and congratulations to Gary and pointed to the enthusiastic support provided by the Operations Team. “With the gaining of ISO 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety), RCS now operates a fully integrated management system to include ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment).

“This demonstrates that our service delivery is managed in an efficient and responsible manner and is a clear benefit to our staff and our customers.”
