The quiz raised a fantastic sum of £6,100 from that evening alone, with more than 220 people taking part. All proceeds from the night will help to fund further projects for the Charlton Upbeats and contribute to sustain the programme, which has grown to engage over 120 young people.
The Charlton Upbeats is a bespoke programme delivered by CACT (Charlton Athletic Community Trust) for young people with Down’s Syndrome. The sessions are held on Saturdays at the Charlton Athletic Training Ground from 1.00pm – 2.30pm and revolve around football, although other activities are also delivered.

Carl Krauhaus, Disability and Mental Health Officer at CACT, said, “We are delighted with this amount raised, it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of those who helped organise the evening. This reflects the support we get from key partners including Regular Cleaning Services and Martin and Lee Simons, which allows the project to continue delivering activities for the Upbeats.”
