The ‘Charlton Upbeats’ is a bespoke programme delivered by CACT for young people with Down’s Syndrome. The programme has some 25-30 regular attendees, aged between 5 to 24. Sessions are organised every Saturday and are delivered at the Charlton Athletic training ground in New Eltham. The annual Christmas Party is being held on the all-weather surface in the dome at the New Eltham Training Ground on Saturday 8th December from 1.00pm-2.30pm. This will also be the last ‘Charlton Upbeats’ session of the year.

Carl Krauhaus, CACT’s Disability & Mental Health Officer said: “Our aim is keep it simple this year and make it a nice get together for all of the Upbeats and their families.

“Our plan is to run activity sessions including football, tri-golf, and dance. There’ll be music and pizzas and soft drinks for everyone.

“Father Christmas will be making a special appearance with presents for the members.

“It promises to be a fantastic party,” Carl continued “the Upbeats Christmas Party is a special occasion and all of the Upbeats look forward to it. The support we receive from RCS is always very much appreciated by everyone at CACT.”

Gemma Bowers, RCS’s HR Manager said: “We’re delighted to once again support the Charlton Upbeats Christmas Party and RCS staff will be in attendance to assist the CACT team on the day.

“The work that CACT carries out in its Disability and Mental Health programmes really make a difference to people’s lives. We’re pleased to be able to help.”
